Karin Price Mueller is a New Jersey-based writer with a specialty in personal finance and consumer issues. She tackles complicated money questions with an easy-to-digest style, providing financial advice for beginners and seasoned investors alike.
Karin writes a twice weekly consumer affairs column called Bamboozled for The Star-Ledger, New Jersey’s largest newspaper. She’s also the founder of NJMoneyHelp.com, an independent personal finance website that gives readers objective and free money advice. Karin also regularly contributes to Inside Jersey, the Ledger’s monthly magazine.
When she’s not writing money stories, Karin juggles her at-home duties as mom to three, family budgeteer, chocolate
chip pancake master, carpooler,
social director, soccer coach, tutor and Harry Potter/Star Wars fact-checker. Then there’s the ongoing task of explaining to her shopaholic sister why it’s better to put that $500 in an IRA instead of buying those designer strappy sandals.
Karin lives in New Jersey with her husband, three kids and English Mastiff, Mojo. Whatever she doesn’t eat goes into Karin’s retirement savings accounts.
